Cierra + Josiah

Cierra + Josiah have a story that resembles that of a fairytale, which was perfect that their wedding day resembled that so well. I met the two of them a few years ago when they were dating. They spent some time apart and so much work was done in their hearts in that time to be moving towards each other in a way no one will ever understand. In that time spent apart, Cierra studied abroad in Scotland and her “Scottish grandpa” came to the United States to celebrate their wedding and guests were taught Scottish dances at their reception (how cool, right?).

The fairytale part comes in when one evening, Cierra was patiently waiting on her best friend to tell her when she needed to head out to meet them. When she finally heard, Cierra walked down the back stairs of her house and there Josiah was outside her back door, playing guitar and singing a song he wrote to her explaining all of the reasons why he loved her and fell in love with her. From that night on, everyone knew they were destined to be together. A few months later, the two of them went hiking in the Wichita Mountains and Josiah proposed in a place they love to spend so much of their time together.

Cierra + Josiah chose to do a first look in which they sat in chairs back to back and Josiah played guitar and sang to her and they exchanged hand written letters. The whole day was magical and I have chills writing this blog post about this couple and their day. They celebrate people so, so well and it was such a joy and honor to photograph their love story and their most important day!
