Cole’s Garden Wedding Photography Guide (Lighting, Timeline + Photo Tips)

Venues

Cole’s Garden in Central OKC is one of my tried and true, favorite venues. Being a preferred vendor for several years has given me a lot of opportunity to be there in every season.

If you’re curious about their venue, click here for more info!

There are several locations to choose from for your ceremony and reception and really nothing is off limits. You can have all your tables for dinner in the garden if you want to, they don’t have to stay inside! The dance floor can be on the terrace and cocktail hour could be in the chapel. They’re in the process of renovations so I didn’t include photos of the standard reception room since it’s changing.

Best Photo Locations at Cole’s Garden–

Often times, I have the bride and whoever she would like to assist with her dress do that in the Chapel for natural lighting while the bridesmaids finish getting dressed in the bridal suite. It solves timing issues and creates a clutter free environment.

On overcast days I love to utilize this space and be able to see a lot of the garden without the sun in peoples faces or creating shadows.

Pro tip: for summer weddings, the waterfall area has the perfect light for after those 6ish evening ceremonies for family, wedding party & couples photos.

Another pro tip: go out for sunset photos earlier than you’d think, it sinks quicker than you’d expect.
